Republicans will release a tax reform bill by the end of September, Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist predicted on Monday.
Norquist's comments came during an interview on CNBC Monday.
"I think we'll have a bill out of the White House, the Senate and the House by Sept. 28," Norquist said. "The White House and the House and Senate leadership have made it clear they're working together to write this bill."
Unlike in the case of the failed healthcare legislation, this time the White House, and Republicans in the House and Senate are all involved in the process, Norquist said.
"This time, all three are working together," he said. "They're not going to come up with one bill and ping pong it back and forth. It's going to be sort-of pre-negotiated. And the pieces of it are a lot easier."
Congress will be looking at a number of other issues in the fall including raising the debt ceiling, funding the federal government and possibly another bid at passing healthcare legislation, The Hill reported.
