The Harris presidential campaign is calling for a second debate with Republican nominee Donald Trump, The Washington Post reported late Tuesday night.

Kamala Harris' campaign is expected to announce its wish for a second presidential debate, a plan that was in the works ahead of the initial debate between the candidates earlier Tuesday night, the Post reported.

Trump campaign adviser Chris LaCivita issued a brief statement to the Post in support of a second debate.

"Of course," he told the Post. "They need cleanup."

It would be in addition to the Oct. 1 vice presidential debate between Republican Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, and Minnesota Democrat Gov. Tim Walz.
