China wants to see Democrat nominee Joe Biden be elected because he is a "pro-China, pro-corporate liberal" and has been one for his whole career, Sen. Josh Hawley said Monday.
"He voted to get China permanent trade relations," the Missouri Republican said on Fox News "Fox and Friends." "He voted to admit China to the WTO. What happened? We lost over 2 million jobs to China because of the Biden policies."
Further, Hawley said, Biden, as President Barack Obama's vice president, had eight years to implement his economic policies, but instead, they mounted a war on the working class.
"The working class and the middle class, they hollowed them out," said Hawley. "That is the economic policy that Biden is going to go back to if he gets elected."
Hawley also discussed the House bill passed over the weekend to allocate $25 billion to the U.S. Postal Service, accusing them of using it as a move to weaponize the service to attack Trump.
"The Democrats are just trying to weaponize the postal service, that's all there is to it," said Hawley. "The postmaster says they have got the money and manpower. They have the resources to deliver the mail safely and on time through the election. The postmaster has already said he won't implement any reforms or measures that will slow down the mail between now and November."
The Postal Service needs longterm reform, Hawley said, but Democrats aren't interested in that, but instead, are more interested in using it to attack the president, and "we just can't allow it."
Meanwhile, Postmaster General Louis LeJoy was not appointed by Trump, but was selected by a bipartisan board of governors, and the Postal Service is independently governed, said Hawley.
"They have got the resources to deliver the mail through the election," he added. "They are going to need long-term reform and the letter carrier's union and board of governors have put forward proposals. We need to take those up in the new year and look forward to the future."
