The wife of Sen. Ted Cruz will be exactly what voters want, a "principled president."
"I can personalize Ted, and talk about him as a husband and a parent," Heidi Cruz told
London's Independent newspaper as she stumped for the Texas senator in Indiana. "People like a principled president … He will also unite our party."
She and her husband's vice-presidential running mate Carly Fiorina have been crisscrossing The Hoosier State in a bid to increase Cruz's change of a victory there.
A loss would bring GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump closer to the nomination clincher of 1,237 delegates.
"We need a president who is running on a mandate from you," she told a crowd of Cruz supporters in at the Almost Home Restaurant in Greencastle Sunday night, according to The Independent.
"The current president is running against you. If we have a president running on a mandate from you, we will be able to get things done."
