Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton has a six-point edge over underdog rival Sen. Bernie Sanders in California ahead of the crucial primary June 7, according to a new poll.

The survey from the nonpartisan research firm Gravis Marketing finds Clinton with 47 percent, and the Vermont lawmaker with 41 percent; 12 percent were unsure.

Clinton is averaging a 9.5 percent edge over her rival in recent polling in the Golden State, according to Real Clear Politics

Sanders is counting on a victory in California to stand a chance against the former secretary of state, but with her New York win on Tuesday, Clinton's support among super delegates puts her on track to clinch the Democratic nomination outright even before results from the California primary.

Clinton added 33 new endorsements over the past month, according to an Associated Press survey, expanding her overwhelming support among the party officials who can back any candidate, despite Sanders' recent string of victories in Wisconsin and the West. Sanders picked up seven.
