Rep. Jordan: Hillary's Benghazi Lies 'Should Disqualify Her'

Hillary Clinton's reaction to the Benghazi, Libya attacks should "disqualify her from being commander in chief," Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan said Tuesday.

With that, he maintained that there is a "big difference" between Clinton and presumptive GOP nominee, Donald Trump.

"I've said all along I'm for the nominee, for Mr. Trump, but we also have to remember when you compare Mr. Trump's positions with Secretary Clinton's, there's a big difference," Jordan, who chairs the House Freedom Caucus and is a member of the House Judiciary Committee, told CNN's Chris Cuomo on the "New Day" program

"The most telling thing is, when you think about Secretary Clinton, her record on Libya, and what she told the American people after four Americans gave their life serving their country," said Jordan.

"The false information, the false narrative she told the American people where we learned last fall she said one thing to her family, one thing to the Egyptian prime minister, but yet she told the taxpayers and citizens and probably more importantly the families of those individuals who died for our country that night a completely different story. And that right there, I think should disqualify her from being commander in chief."

Cuomo pushed back, asking Jordan why he would not accept the results of intelligence committee meetings that found the stories were different versions of information that was being delivered at different times.

"The intelligence may have changed Chris, but her story didn't," said Jordan. "What we know is at 10:08 the night of the attack, she said some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet . . . less than an hour later she tells her daughter that terrorists killed two of our people that night and the next day she tells the Egyptian prime minister we know. Not we think. We know."

Privately, Jordan continued, Clinton's story didn't change, and publicly, it didn't either, "but it was a completely different message . . . I've seen the evidence firsthand as purview on the Benghazi committee. That right there is just so wrong, and such a contrast I think again, when you think about this election and why we're supporting Mr. Trump."

However, he said he may not agree with Trump on all issues, but there is never a candidate he agrees on everything with.

"There are going to be some concerns, but the point is he is much stronger on issues care about and helping this country back on the path it needs to get back on," said Jordan.
