Hillary Clinton slammed President Donald Trump in a tweet on Sunday just ahead of his much-anticipated meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.
Clinton sent the tweet soon after France beat Croatia 4-2 to win the 2018 World Cup in Sochi, Russia, and after Trump had put out a tweet himself in which he congratulated Putin on the tournament.
The summit comes just days after special counsel Robert Mueller indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers for interfering in the 2016 presidential election, The Hill reported.
Trump has been criticized by both Democratic and Republican congressmen for his reluctance to condemn Putin and Russia for the meddling.
Many critics said Trump should have cancelled the meeting with Putin following the announcement of the indictments.
The president reacted to Friday's indictment by blaming former President Barack Obama.
