Hillary Clinton, claiming President Donald Trump has betrayed the nation, said she supports impeaching him.
Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 presidential election, made her comments Wednesday morning on Twitter.
She wrote: "The president of the United States has betrayed our country. That's not a political statement — it's a harsh reality, and we must act. He is a clear and present danger to the things that keep us strong and free. I support impeachment."
Clinton's comments came just before Trump released a memo detailing his July call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The memo shows Trump asked Zelensky to investigate whether former Vice President Joe Biden played a role in shutting down an investigation into a company that employed his son while Biden was still in ofice.
Democrats have accused Trump of soliciting Ukraine's help to smear Biden. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., announced Tuesday that the House was moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry.
