The mothers of five victims of gun violence or police actions are being featured in a new ad released this week by Hillary Clinton's campaign.

The three-minute spot features: Sybrina Fulton, mother of Trayvon Martin; Geneva Reed-Veal, mother of Sandra Bland; Gwen Carr, mother of Eric Garner; Maria Hamilton, mother of Dontre Hamilton; and Lucia McBath, mother of Jordan Davis, Politico reports.

The mothers say Clinton understands their concerns and is the best choice to succeed President Barack Obama in the White House.

Fulton's son was fatally shot in 2012 by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in what became a racially-charged case that electrified the nation.

Clinton says in the ad: "The stakes are too high, the costs are too dear, and I am not and will not be afraid to keep fighting for common-sense reforms and along with you, achieve those on behalf of all who have been lost."

The commercial will begin running Monday in Illinois, Ohio and Missouri, a day before the Democratic primaries in those states.
