Is Hillary 'Minded' to Run?

Has Hillary Clinton made a bombshell announcement about running for the White House or is it just the notorious British press stretching the truth?

Comments that Clinton allegedly made in Scotland saying she "is minded to" run for the White House have surfaced several weeks after she is said to have made them.

Scotland's Herald newspaper claimed she made the remark on Sept. 13 while in the UK to accept an honorary doctor of law degree at Prince William's alma mater, St. Andrews University.

The paper gave no reason for the six-week gap between Clinton's alleged remark and its report.

Now, nearly a week after the Herald's report, the American press is noting her "comment." Time reported it on Wednesday. That version was picked up by Politico.

According to the Herald, Clinton was pressed at a private gathering at St. Andrews on her plans come 2016. Twice the former first lady offered neutral responses, the Herald was told.

Questioned for a third time, she said, "I haven't made up my mind yet," and one of the guests told her that was an unsatisfactory answer

"Yes, it is unsatisfactory," Clinton supposedly said. "I'm minded to do it."

Most political pundits believe Clinton will run and she is well ahead of all potential Democratic rivals in the polls. She said earlier this month that she won't start thinking "seriously" about whether to make a bid until next year.
