Hillary Clinton is calling on President Donald Trump to speak out against anti-Semitic threats and attacks.
Trump's former Democratic presidential opponent took to Twitter to urge the president to get involved.
The Hill reported more than 100 headstones at a Jewish cemetery in St. Louis were destroyed over the weekend. It also noted the increasing number of bomb threats to Jewish Community Centers throughout the United States.
A White House statement released on Monday condemned the threats, saying: "hatred and hate-motivated violence of any kind have no place in a country founded on the promise of individual freedom."
But some are criticizing the statement, just like they did over the White House comment on Holocaust Remembrance Day, for not mentioning the Jewish community, The Hill noted.
The Washington Post noted that during a press conference last week with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump have an "unusual response" to a question about the rise of anti-Semitic incidents.
"Rather than condemning them, Trump responded by talking about his Electoral College victory, describing the question as unfair," the Post noted.
