Forty-six percent of Americans said news coverage of the House impeachment hearings was biased against President Donald Trump, according to a Hill-HarrisX poll released Thursday.

That compared with only 12% who said the coverage favored the president.

However, 42% of the 1,000 registered voters surveyed Saturday and Sunday said reporting was not biased one way or the other.

Here are the results, based on party affiliation:

Has the news coverage of the impeachment inquiry been biased against President Trump, biased in favor of President Trump, or not biased either way?

Against Trump:

  • Republicans: 67%.
  • Democrats: 27%.
  • Independents: 50%.

Favoring Trump:

  • Republicans: 17%.
  • Democrats: 10%.
  • Independents: 9%.

Neither way:

  • Democrat: 63%
  • Independent: 42%.
  • Republican: 16%.

The Hill-HarrisX poll has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.
