Former Arkansas governor and GOP presidential contender Mike Huckabee's campaign has raised $2 million to date while pro-Huckabee super PACs have raised $6 million, a senior aide told Politico.

In 2008, when Huckabee ran for the GOP nomination, he raised just $544,000 in the first quarter of his campaign that saw him go on to win second place in the Iowa caucuses.

Jeb Bush's presidential campaign and super PAC hold the runaway lead in the presidential fundraising stakes, recently reporting they have raised $114.4 million, according to Real Clear Politics.

Huckabee's figures also pale in comparison to those of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. His campaign and super PACs raised $51 million. And Florida Sen. Marco Rubio campaign and organizations have raised $45 million, according to Politico.
