Investigators working for special counsel Robert Mueller are looking for information from the eighth person who attended a now-scrutinized meeting with Donald Trump Jr., a Russian lawyer and others, CNN reported.
"The eighth person has been identified by prosecutors and we are cooperating fully with prosecutors as a result of the investigation," said Steve Balber, the person's attorney.
Balber confirmed to The Washington Post the person was Ike Kaveladze, who works for Emin and Aras Agalarov, the Russian developers who hosted the Trump-owned Miss Universe pageant in 2013.
Balber said Kaveladze has not met with investigators yet. Balber also represents the Agalarovs.
Balber said Kaveladze is a longtime U.S. citizen who speaks fluent Russian and has "never had any engagement with the Russian government in any capacity."
He said Kaveladzel was asked to go to the meeting at Trump Tower with the understanding he would be Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya's translator, Balber said.
Trump Jr. set up the meeting at Trump Tower after allegedly being told the campaign would be given damaging information from a "Russian government attorney" about Hillary Clinton, according to The Daily Caller.
President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-campaign manager Paul Manafort also attended.
