One year after brushing off Republican lawmakers, the IRS has reversed course and opened up an investigation into the activities of the Clinton Foundation, the
Washington Examiner reports.
The IRS referred Rep. Marsha Blackburn's request to its Exempt Organizations Examinations program,
reports the Examiner. Blackburn, R-Tenn., has led a cadre of Republicans who have been persistent in their attempts to compel the IRS to investigate, despite being spurned with a form letter last year.
At issue is whether donors to the Foundation received special access to Clinton and the State Department when she was secretary of state.
