Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump, who also serves as special assistant to the president, is filling out her team in the West Wing, and has hired Julie Radford as chief of staff, Politico reported Friday.

Radford worked for Margaret Spellings, who served as education secretary in the administration of former President George W. Bush. Ivanka Trump has another adviser, Dina Powell, who worked in the Bush administration as well, serving as assistant to the president for personnel.

Powell came to know Radford through Goldman Sachs' 10,000 Small Business initiative. Based in New Orleans, Radford, a mother of three, oversaw Goldman Sachs' entrepreneur-boosting programs in Florida, Louisiana and Texas. She is a graduate of Southern Methodist University.

"She's one of the most talented women I have ever worked with," Powell, who is deputy national security adviser and a senior economic counselor, said Friday. "I saw firsthand her ability to both creatively develop new and innovate programs and execute them based on measurable results."

Radford is interested in women's initiatives and contacted Powell in February to offer support for Ivanka Trump's focus on women's empowerment issues. Along with Powell and Hope Hicks, the president's senior communications adviser, Radford will accompany Ivanka Trump to Berlin on Tuesday to participate in a W20 women's summit organized by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
