Despite lauding the fact Hillary Clinton has "never run an election where she didn’t get the most votes," Democratic strategist James Carville says a 2020 presidential run is "not really in her plans right now," according to The Hill.
"She didn't show any indication that she wants to run for president again," Carville told "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y., per The Hill. "She's run twice, and it's an exhaustive thing."
Clinton won the popular vote in both the 2008 Democratic primary against former President Barack Obama and the 2016 general election against President Donald Trump — losing in the delegate count and Electoral College both times — Carville noted, per The Hill.
"I think I've counted something like 16 times in a row that a Clinton has run — either her or him — they've always gotten the most votes, so there's something to be said for that," Carville, the lead strategist for Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, told host John Catsimatidis, according to the Hill.
Despite Carville's belief Hillary Clinton has potential as a candidate, she herself said in October said she would not run for president again and will be resigned to being a mere a voice of opposition to the president who defeated her.
