After Jared Kushner indicated there was a "plan" in the works to delay the Nov. 3 general election, he quickly tried to backtrack on his comments.

In an interview with Time Magazine published Tuesday, Kushner hinted it was possible that the presidential election will get pushed back because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Hours later, President Donald Trump’s adviser clarified his statement and said he wasn’t aware of any plans to move the date of the election.

"I have not been involved in, nor am I aware of any discussions about trying to change the date of the presidential election," he told NBC News.

His clarification contradicts his statement to Time Magazine, which sparked a frenzy on social media.

"I’m not sure I can commit one way or the other, but right now that’s the plan,” he told Time about the possibility of postponing the election.

Kushner told both outlets changing the date isn’t his decision. Only Congress has the authority to change Election Day.
