Utah Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz says that while he is glad new House Speaker Paul Ryan will be working to get the GOP agenda passed through the lower chamber, he also sees him as someone who can work on getting things through the Senate as well.
"I think Paul is one of the most articulate members we have," Chaffetz said Thursday on Fox News Channel's
"On the Record with Greta Van Susteren." "He has shown that he can work with Democrats and hold the line on our our agenda and try to push [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell in the right direction, so we actually put bills on the president's desk that has not been happening."
Chaffetz had announced he was running to replace retiring House Speaker John Boehner, but dropped out when Ryan announced he would run.
