Judge Jeanine Pirro continues to make it abundantly clear to coworkers and Trump administration officials alike that she wants to replace Jeff Sessions as attorney general, Politico reports.

The popular Fox News host and former federal prosecutor and judge has been friends with President Donald Trump for decades, but he's not considering Pirro for the AG job, still held by Sessions despite Trump's consternation, Politico reports.

Trump did engage in flattery with Pirro in November when he broached the idea of a federal judgeship, Politico reports. And the president was talked out of tapping Pirro for U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

Pirro first began lobbying for attorney general during Trump's transition in 2016 and then deputy attorney general when it was clear the president was going with Sessions as AG, Politico reports.

Pirro is an ardent defender of Trump and uses her Saturday night show "Justice with Judge Jeanine" to reprimand Republicans for not supporting him enough while flaying Democrats and every other critic and foe of the president's.

Politico reports that Trump watches nearly every show, sometimes calling in.
