Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) warned that the U.S. would "retaliate" against North Korea if its hostilities continue over its nuclear weapons program, Townhall reported Tuesday.

"North Korea, basically, would do all they can do," Manchin told CNN. "They have to understand that we will retaliate. We're not going to sit back and take it."

North Korea on Monday continued their aggressive dialogue with the U.S., with one official claiming the U.S. was at fault for creating "a dangerous situation in which a thermonuclear war may break out at any minute."

"[North Korea] is ready to react to any mode of war desired by the U.S.," said Kim In Ryong, North Korea's deputy United Nations ambassador on Monday.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Monday stated the U.S. was prepared for "almost any scenario" in response to hostile actions by North Korea, including a direct assault on American soil.
