House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., called the GOP Tax Cuts and Jobs Act "Armageddon" — a statement which shows she is "almost unhinged," Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., said.
"Nancy Pelosi has said [the tax bill] is the end of the world and this is Armageddon," Barrasso told "The Cats Roundtable" 970 AM-N.Y. "The statements are almost unhinged. People like Nancy Pelosi run for office so they can basically try to grow the government."
Barrasso added to host John Catsimatidis he runs for office to "grow the economy" not the government, and make it "easier for people to do business."
"For her it may sound like Armageddon, but for me it sounds like freedom," Barrasso said. "Government can either create opportunity or crush opportunity."
The slight differences between the House and Senate tax reform bills are in conference committee currently and Barrasso added it is "pretty darn close" to being completed and sent to President Donald Trump's desk before year's end.
