Former CIA chief John Brennan on Friday ripped President Donald Trump, tweeting that his "kakistocracy is collapsing after a lamentable journey."

Brennan replied to one of Trump's tweets earlier in the day that called former FBI director James Comey a "proven leaker & liar."

A kakistocracy is defined as a "system of government which is run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens."

Brennan was appointed CIA director in 2013 by President Barack Obama and his tenure ended in January 2017, when Trump took over.
