Former CIA director John Brennan continued his verbal assault on President Donald Trump Thursday by criticizing his choice for secretary of Veterans Affairs.
Brennan aired his thoughts on Twitter regarding the firing of David Shulkin and the nomination of White House physician Adm. Ronny Jackson to replace him.
Brennan is not alone in his criticism, as others have raised concerns over Jackson's lack of experience running an agency or a large business. But Brennan's disagreement with the nomination is notable because he has pushed back on virtually everything Trump has said and done.
Jackson gained national attention in January when he spent 50 minutes briefing the White House press corps on Trump's health after his annual physical. The Associated Press reported Thursday that Jackson's performance behind the mic that day impressed Trump to the point he eventually decided to hire him to run the troubled VA.
