Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn was active on Twitter Thursday as he defended the Republican Party's healthcare bill.
The Texas Republican's feed was peppered with comments from people who oppose the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA), the Senate's version of the American Health Care Act that passed in the House earlier this year, after he posted a link to a Wall Street Journal story about Obamacare.
Cornyn, or perhaps someone from his office, was quick to respond to some of the messages. Here's a sampling of the tweets:
Cornyn's role as the Senate's second-ranked Republican means he is tasked with garnering support for legislation introduced by his party. He has been particularly active on Capitol Hill regarding healthcare and was hopeful that the Senate could hold a floor vote on the BCRA last week.
The vote did not happen because the GOP does not yet have the necessary support for the bill.
