Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a Republican, said Tuesday that he doesn't know whether he'll run for president in 2020, but wasn't ruling it out.
"I honestly don't know what my future is," the governor said on CNN's "New Day" program. "We don't know what is happening in politics today. We don't know what is happening tomorrow."
Kasich previously ran in 2016, winning the third-highest number of votes in the GOP primary, and implied in his interview that he would be open to running again, but only after much thought.
"As to whether I would do something like that again? If I felt my country called me and it was practical, I'd have to very seriously think about it," he said. "But right now, I'm not out there trying to create delegates and states. I don't know what the future is going to bring."
