One of President Donald Trump's main proponents in Congress heaped praise on Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., as "a force to be reckoned with."
"One thing I'll say about Kamala Harris, and I've said this before: She's got game," Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told CBS's "Face the Nation." "She is very talented, she's very smart, and she'll be a force to be reckoned with."
Graham's praise came after his coming to the defense of attacks against Democratic presidential primary frontrunner Joe Biden at this Thursday's debate in Miami. Sen. Harris challenged Biden's past record on social justice and having befriended segregationists and opposing school busing legislation decades ago.
"Anybody who knows Joe Biden, there's not a racist bone in his body," Graham told CBS host Margaret Brennan. "That's not a cliché, that's the reality.
"But the narrative is maybe it's not his time and that he's not up to the task.
"I think you'll underestimate Joe Biden at your own peril."
Graham said Biden has to "change the narrative" at the next debate, but Graham admitted those playing the race card against him – as they did against President Trump – have "extreme" policies vs. Biden's more centrist Democratic views.
