Trump Spokeswoman: Gov. Mike Pence Endorsement No Big Deal

GOP front-runner Donald Trump's camp Friday downplayed a pending announcement by Indiana Gov. Mike Pence that several sources said would be an endorsement of rival Ted Cruz, with national spokeswoman Katrina Pierson telling Fox News that "endorsements haven't had too much weight in many of these elections."

She told Fox News' Martha MacCallum on the "America's Newsroom" program that the Pence endorsement "may sway people," but at the end of the day, she said the Texas senator has already been mathematically eliminated from attaining the 1,237 delegates he needs to clinch the GOP nomination over Trump.

"This would just be an attempt to force some sort of convention which I don't think will happen," Pierson said.

"Mr. Trump can still win the 1,237 prior to the convention even if Cruz wins Indiana. So I really don't think it is going to move because people are seeing the writing on the wall."
