McCarthy: Dems Using 'Every Stall Tactic Possible' Against Trump

Democrats are stalling to hamper President Donald Trump's administration, according to Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.

He noted the historical significance of Democrat stalling during an appearance Tuesday on Fox News' "America's Newsroom."

"It was the longest time ever to get a Cabinet since George Washington. No president has ever had to wait this long … They are using every stall tactic possible to try and make this president not successful," McCarthy said.

The House has passed bills regardless of the pushback from Democrats, McCarthy said. "If you look in the House, we've passed more bills than any other time, going forward more than 158. He has signed more, twice as many as President Obama in the first 100 days … so we have had some success."

However, the congressman said that over in the Senate, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, has led the effort to stall confirmations and hold back Republican efforts.

"It's time to work together and find common ground, and actually have a solution for America," McCarthy said.

McCarthy said that the probe into allegations about Russia is distracting, but it has not stopped the House from pushing forward with bills such as one that would improve the Veterans Administration.

The House will vote Tuesday on the VA accountability bill, McCarthy noted in a tweet.
