Law Enforcement Today, a news and opinion website made by and for people in law enforcement, has issued its first political endorsement to support President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign.
“This year, for the first time, Law Enforcement Today is proud to make our first ever endorsement for president — Donald J. Trump,” reads a post from the website’s national spokesman, Kyle Reyes.
“Frankly, this was an easy decision. From our perspective, there’s no other choice,” the editorial continues.
“President Trump has been an unabashed supporter of law enforcement. He calls himself the ‘law and order’ president, and he has shown that to be true in both actions and words. As cities across America suffered violent riots, the president was out there offering the full support of federal resources to put down the violent riots — all mayors and governors had to do was ask.”
The editorial concludes: “Unlike those on the left who blatantly attack, accuse, and demonize police officers, sheriffs, correctional officers, and others in the criminal justice system, the president has shown that he will always make sure that the American people know and understand that our law enforcement officers are supported and honored for their selfless service.”
