Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., offered some advice for President Donald Trump Friday after former national security adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI: don't pardon him.
CNN's Manu Raju said he spoke with Graham about Friday's developments in the Russia investigation, which saw Flynn walk into a federal courthouse in Washington, D.C. and issue a guilty plea for not disclosing contacts with Russians.
Flynn is prepared to testify that a senior Trump campaign official directed him to reach out to the Russians. ABC News reported that the official in question was Trump himself.
Trump's legal team issued a brief statement regarding Flynn's guilty plea and tried to link Flynn with the Obama administration, since he served as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency from 2012-2014.
"Nothing about the guilty plea or the charge implicates anyone other than Mr. Flynn," the statement reads.
