Donald Trump's "Pocahontas" insult at Sen. Elizabeth Warren was "funny," but his comments on U.S. District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel's Mexican heritage were "racist," Sen. Lindsey Graham said Friday.

"When you're talking about a politician, you've got to be able to take a joke," the South Carolina Republican told reporters, reports The Hill. "The Pocahontas thing. You know she started all of this. I don't refer to her as Pocahontas. I can see why she would be offended, absolutely . . . but given this contest, if this bothers you, you need to get out of politics."

Warren Thursday night stepped up her slams on Trump Thursday night in a speech were she called him a "loud, nasty, thin-skinned fraud, and Friday morning, Trump tweeted in response:

But Graham also said that when Warren called Trump "small-minded, weak, racist, that's pretty funny." Warren has stepped up her criticism of Trump, including in a speech Thursday night where she called him a "loud, nasty, thin-skinned fraud."

Trump has nicknamed Warren often with the nickname "Pocahontas," both in speeches and on Twitter, taunting her over her claims of having Native American heritage.

However, Graham urged fellow Republicans to pull back their support of Trump after his comments on Curiel and another about Muslim judges.
