Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Wednesday he supports South Carolina's efforts to challenge Obama's Executive Action on DACA, one day after CNN reported that seven states were suing the Trump administration to try to end the protection of young illegal immigrants.
"NO president has the authority to unilaterally change immigration laws and grant mass amnesty," Graham tweeted. "DACA should be fixed by Congress."
South Carolina joined Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, West Virginia, and Texas in the lawsuit. President Donald Trump last year announced the end of DACA, putting the responsibility on Congress to come up with a fix, but a federal judge last week ruled the Trump administration had to continue accepting applications for the program.
The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, allowed people who illegally came to the United States as children with their parents to stay if they met certain criteria.
