Sen. Lindsey Graham issued a tweet late Friday stating "time is running out" on the threat posed by North Korea over their nuclear weapons program.
The South Carolina Republican called upon "China and the world at large" to help the U.S. find a peaceful resolution following reports that North Korea had launched a ballistic missile test on Friday. The missile broke up shortly after launch, according to Fox News.
President Donald Trump also tweeted his displeasure at North Korea's actions on Friday, stating they had "disrespected the wishes of China & its highly respected President."
Earlier in the week Graham urged China to intervene, telling Fox News the Chinese needed to "up their game to stop this before it's too late."
Trump has been working with China as he tries to encourage other world leaders to pressure the government of North Korea and its leader Kim Jong Un to cease their nuclear weapons program.
