Rep. Marcia Fudge, D-Ohio, said Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez should resign as a result of the problems tallying up results from the Iowa caucuses, Politico is reporting.
"Oh yeah," Perez should step down, she said. "We're a party in chaos."
And Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., added: "It's just a matter of time before he's going to go."
Tina Podlodowski, who chairs the Washington State Democratic Party, demanded to know why Perez was not out front while Iowa encountered problems. Her comments came during a Wednesday call of state chairs and DNC officials, according to Politico.
And she wanted to know why Perez was not standing alongside Iowa Democratic chairman Troy Price while he spoke to the public about the problems.
"Where is Tom?" Podlodowski said. "It was very frustrating to not hear from the DNC for 48 hours, except for them throwing Troy under the bus."
Perez has called for a "recanvass" of the results of the caucuses, which were marred by technical problems and delays.
"Enough is enough," he wrote on Twitter.
One Iowa Democrat said a Perez assistant gave Price just a one-minute advance warning before posting the tweet.
Meanwhile, a DNC official claimed Perez and the DNC sent workers to help the Iowa state party and provide resources. The source claimed Perez was updated hourly.
