The chairman of the House Freedom Caucus said Thursday that his group could support a revised version of the Republican healthcare plan if it drops three Obamacare regulations on insurers.

Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., spoke at a Politico Playbook event, where he targeted regulations including "essential health benefits," the mandate that insurance companies provide coverage regardless of pre-existing conditions, and the rule preventing those companies from raising costs on sick customers.

"If those offers that were made over the last couple of days actually appear in the legislation, the majority, if not almost all of the Freedom Caucus, will vote for this bill," he said, according to the Washington Examiner.

"We've got to act to lower premiums. Until I'm convinced that it does that, we won't vote yes," he added.
