Maryland's freshman Republican Gov. Larry Hogan says he won't vote for Donald Trump in November.
The Wednesday declaration was the first time the Trump critic said he won't be casting his ballot for the party's presumptive nominee,
the Washington Post reports.
"No, I don’t plan to," the popular governor, elected in 2014, replied to a question about whether he'd cast a vote for the real estate mogul on Election Day, the Post reports.
"I guess when I get behind the curtain I’ll have to figure it out. Maybe write someone in. I’m not sure."
Trump
won the state's presidential GOP primary in April; Hogan had supported then-candidate New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
The Post reports Hogan has already said he doesn't plan to go to the Republican National Convention this summer, and earlier this week put further distance between himself and Trump
with a dismissive comment that "I don’t care about Donald Trump. I don’t listen to Donald Trump."
On Wednesday, he added he's "not pleased with the candidates in either party…. I don’t think either party has put up its best candidate," according to the Post.
