President Donald Trump lashed out at Fox News on Tuesday in a pair of tweets, concluding that the network's coverage of his impeachment trial could lead to its demise.

"Really pathetic how @FoxNews is trying to be so politically correct by loading the airwaves with Democrats like Chris Van Hollen, the no name Senator from Maryland," Trump wrote.

The president complained that Van Holen "has been on forever playing up the Impeachment Hoax," adding that "Dems wouldn't even give Fox their low ratings debates."

Trump took his complaints about Fox to another level in a follow-up tweet: "So, what the hell has happened to @FoxNews. Only I know! Chris Wallace and others should be on Fake News CNN or MSDNC. How's Shep Smith doing? Watch, this will be the beginning of the end for Fox, just like the other two which are dying in the ratings. Social Media is great!"

Fox News' positive coverage of Trump was part of what helped him win the 2016 election and has been his favorite network during his adminstration as he has criticized other media outlets, Business Insider noted.

Recently, however, the president has voiced his anger at the channel when it has guests he disapproves of, has polls that are not favorable to him, or when he does not like what the network's anchors say.
