Meghan McCain on Wednesday scolded the Republican Party over its constant "in-fighting" and said she's "exhausted" by the attacks on her father, Sen. John McCain.

A guest on ABC's "Good Morning America," the political pundit and author blasted the drumbeat of threats coming out of the White House.

"I'm exhausted with the in-fighting within the Republican Party. I'm exhausted with the attacks on my father," Meghan McCain told GMA. "I don't know if you guys have heard, but my father is fighting glioblastoma right now.

"And there's nothing that could possibly happen or be threatening to me or my family that could possibly be more painful than what we're going through right now, and have gone through in the past three months."

Sen. McCain was diagnosed with the aggressive form of brain cancer over the summer.

"So whatever threats are being levied right now, I'm telling you, we're a tough ride-or-die family and right now, there's really nothing that could possibly happen that could possibly be more complicated," McCain told GMA.

Her comments come after President Donald Trump on Tuesday warned that, "at some point I fight back and it won't be pretty" after Sen. McCain criticized the "spurious, half-baked nationalism" in the country, a backhanded slap at the president.

"I just have high hopes that someday, President Trump and the rest of the Republican party can find some common ground together where if you have any kind of difference of opinion on the future of the country or the party, you're not just automatically going to be threatened in return," Meghan McCain said.
