Former New York City Mayor and gun control advocate Michael Bloomberg announced this week he will match donations to anti-gun causes in the wake of the shooting rampage in Las Vegas.

Bloomberg posted this on Twitter Wednesday, just days after a 64-year-old shot and killed 58 people and wounded nearly 500 others at a country concert:

Bloomberg also said this on Monday, the day after the deadly attack:

Bloomberg is worth $47.1 billion, according to Forbes.

The national debate on gun control has heated up this week after the Las Vegas massacre. The NRA stepped in Thursday and said it would support the regulation of bump stocks, legal devices that can turn a semi-automatic firearm into one that fires like an automatic one. Twelve such devices were found in the Las Vegas shooter's hotel room.
