President Donald Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen has officially changed his political party affiliation to a Democrat in the aftermath of his fallout with Trump and the legal trouble he's now in.
According to Axios, Cohen logged into the website of the New York State Board of Elections around midday Thursday and made the switch.
Cohen was formerly a registered Republican.
Cohen pleaded guilty in August to tax evasion and other charges related to payments he made on behalf of Trump to women who claimed they had affairs with the president several years ago. He is scheduled to be sentenced in December.
Cohen and Trump have traded barbs over social media and in interviews, with Cohen saying in July he puts "family and country first." He was once known as Trump's fixer who would help make problems go away for the real-estate-mogul-turned-president.
Earlier this year, FBI agents raided two offices, a hotel room, and an apartment tied to Cohen.
