Republicans will enjoy a big victory in Tuesday's elections, which will force President Barack Obama to work with GOP lawmakers on legislation they present to him, predicted Donald Trump.
"I think you're going to have a very big Republican victory tomorrow," the real estate and entertainment billionaire told "Fox & Friends" on Monday. "They'll be putting bills before the president that he can either say yes or no. And, it's going to be very hard for him to reject everything."
Iowa Republican candidate for the Senate Joni Ernst was a "great candidate" who had done a "terrific job" in her battle against Democratic challenger Rep. Bruce Braley, Trump said, adding she had also been "strong and smart."
Trump predicted Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell would hold onto his seat in Kentucky against challenger Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes. He called it a "very important race," since McConnell would likely move to majority leader if Republicans won enough seats in the Senate.
"He's so solid, and he doesn't get the credit for it. He's so solid. And, he's got such an important position coming up. So, how can Kentucky sort of avoid looking at that? He'll be the king," Trump said.
In Georgia, Trump said GOP candidate and businessman David Perdue had done an "amazing job" in his bid for the Senate, adding he was now "quite a bit ahead" of Democratic challenger Michelle Nunn.
Republicans, who are also expected to grow their majority in the House, have made gains in Senate races in key battleground states, including Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire and Arkansas. The GOP would need a total of 51 seats to take control of the Senate.
Obamacare was one of the main reasons why President Barack Obama has low approval ratings just two years after winning re-election, Trump said, adding that he thought the healthcare law would eventually "have to be repealed or massively changed."
"I think it really started with Obamacare, where he tried to ram that through, and did, in fact, ram it through where he had the power to do it," he said.
Obama's unpopularity was the reason why so few people attended a rally when he campaigned Sunday in Philadelphia for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Wolf, Trump said, noting it contrasted with the tens of thousands who gathered to hear him speak when he first ran for president in 2008.
"What a difference six years of a failed administration can make. Six years ago, it was a whole different ball game. People were looking for change. Remember the famous word, change?
"It got changed all right, but not the kind of change they wanted," Trump said.
