Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, said that he agreed with a comment from Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., that it would be wrong for President Donald Trump to fire special counsel Robert Mueller.
There would be "holy hell to pay" if Mueller was fired without cause, Graham said Monday.
"That's why presidents generally don't dismiss them," Lee said on Fox News Monday.
The senator, who sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said that his panel and the other congressional committees are continuing with their independent investigations into alleged Russian interference.
"I think they're getting to the bottom of some of these facts. I don't think all of the facts are leading where the Democrats wanted. But that's part of the reason why we have investigations and that's why we follow the facts as they take us," Lee said.
