President Donald Trump is "committed" to Vice President Mike Pence — and they are determined to win the White House again in 2020, Donald Trump Jr. told Newsmax TV on Thursday.
"I believe there's commitment there," Trump Jr. told "America Talks Live" host John Cardillo in an exclusive interview pegged to his new book, "Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us," which is No. 1 on The New York Times best-seller list.
"He's a great guy, a great American," the eldest son of President Donald Trump said about his father's No. 2. "I've gotten to spend a lot of time with him over the past few years."
Rumors have long swirled that the president would replace Pence on the 2020 ticket, with one name regularly mentioned being former United Nations Amb. Nikki Haley.
"If there was ever something on, good or bad," Trump Jr. said he would hear from Pence.
"When my son broke his leg really badly a couple years ago, literally, the first phone call was from Mike Pence — maybe the second after my father.
"It wasn't like: 'This is the White House operator. Please hold for the VP,'" Trump Jr. told Cardillo. "It's, like, I pick up the phone and its done: 'Mike Pence. How are you doing? Is everything OK?'
"This is a guy that is a truly genuinely good guy.
"You'd have to ask him what he would want to do," Trump Jr. said of his father, "but he's a great guy — and they are committed."
