Warriors basketball team leader Stephen Curry's hesitance to visit the White House after his team's NBA championship win in June leaves him without having to make the decision as President Donald Trump on Saturday made it for him, rescinding the invitation.

"Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team. Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!" Trump tweeted Saturday.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr had said the team would vote on whether or not to visit the White House to participate in a ceremony to celebrate their victory. On Friday, Curry indicated he didn't want to attend.

"I don't want to go," Curry told reporters, according to Mediaite. "That's kind of the nucleus of my belief."

Curry said the reason was because "we don't stand for basically what our President has – the things that he's said and the things that he hasn't said in the right times, that we won't stand for it."

"By acting and not going, hopefully that will inspire some change when it comes to what we tolerate in this country and what is accepted and what we turn a blind eye to. It's not just the act of not going there. There are things you have to do on the back end to actually push that message into motion," he continued.

Fellow team leader Kevin Durant had also said he wouldn't visit the White House because "I don't respect who's in office right now."
