In a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday, Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., asked Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen about President Donald Trump's vulgar remarks during an immigration meeting last week at the Oval Office.
"I did not hear that word used," Nielsen told members of the committee.
"I don't remember a specific word. What I was struck with, and I'm sure you were as well, was just the general profanity that was used in the room by almost everyone," Nielsen told Durbin, who was also at the White House meeting, The Washington Post reported.
Durbin asked if Nielsen had heard him use profanity.
"No, sir, and neither did I," she responded.
Trump has come under fire for reportedly referring to Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as "s***hole countries."
