The National Rifle Association is shelling out $4 million on TV commercials as it sets its sights on helping Republican candidates win three close Senate races, reports
CNN.
The group's spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said that the NRA has targeted Democratic incumbents in Arkansas, Colorado and North Carolina, seen as three key states in the GOP efforts to capture control of the upper chamber.
Starting Wednesday, the NRA will spend $1.4 million in North Carolina in support of the state's House Speaker Thom Tillis, who is running against Sen. Kay Hagan.

"Our Second Amendment rights are under attack by the Obama administration, and we need leaders like Thom Tillis in the Senate to fight back," says the ad.
The group is also splashing out $1.4 million to run campaign ads for Republican Rep. Tom Cotton, who's in a tight race against Sen. Mark Pryor in Arkansas, and around $1 million in Colorado backing GOP Rep. Cory Gardner, who's up against Sen. Mark Udall.
Last month the NRA launched a TV ad campaign promoting Republican Ed Gillespie in his Virginia election battle with Democrat Sen. Mark Warner.
The group has also launched a media blitz attacking former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who plans to spend $50 million of his own money this year pushing for more gun control while his group, Everytown Gun Safety, attempts to stem the powerful influence in Washington of the NRA.
