White House chief of staff John Kelly is reportedly trying to limit direct access to President Donald Trump from one of his most famous advisers —  former Apprentice co-star Omarosa Manigault.

According to The Daily Beast, Kelly has taken steps to prevent Manigault and other senior staffers from getting unvetted news articles on the president's desk — a method they'd used to update Trump on internal White House drama.

Manigualt was a prime offender, according to The Daily Beast.

"When Gen. Kelly is talking about clamping down on access to the Oval, she's patient zero," one unnamed source told the outlet.

Kelly "is not thrilled by any means by [Manigault]," another unnamed source told The Daily Beast. "He is, however, thrilled that he has been able to stop staffers, including Omarosa, from bolting into the Oval Office and triggering the president with White House [palace] intrigue stories."

Since Kelly began restoring discipline in the West Wing, Manigault's ability to influence her boss during the work day has taken a hit, and "she's not happy about it," another unnamed source told the outlet.

"She has a bond that goes back years with [Trump] and resents being cut off like everyone has," that source told The Daily Beast.
