Paul Ryan, R-Wis., the Speaker of the House of Representatives, will join a bipartisan group of legislators in Houston Thursday for an update on recovery efforts after Hurricane Harvey, according to CNN.
Along with Ryan on the trip will be Republican Texas Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, House Appropriations Committee Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen, R-N.J., and nine congressmen from Texas, including Democratic Reps. Sheila Jackson-Lee and Gene Green, CNN’s report said.
The schedule includes a briefing on recovery efforts at the Coast Guard Air Station Houston, and an aerial tour in which the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will spotlight proposals for flood mitigation, according to The Corpus Christi Caller-Times.
Ryan visited Jacksonville and southern parts of Florida on Wednesday with Florida Republicans Sen. Marco Rubio and Rep. Carlos Curbelo, CNN’s report said. Hurricane Irma struck there days after Harvey hit Texas.
