Vice President Mike Pence plans to return to his hometown of Columbus, Indiana, on Wednesday after Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are sworn in, reports NBC News.

Pence, who has opted to attend Biden’s inauguration in lieu of President Donald Trump’s farewell event at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland because of logistical challenges, will arrive with second lady Karen Pence at Columbus Municipal Airport at 2:45 p.m. to greet friends and supporters.

The vice president will split his time between Indiana and Washington, D.C., for the foreseeable future, according to the report.

Pence served as a congressman for 12 years and for one term as governor of Indiana before being tapped to serve as Trump’s running mate in 2016.
